Un furto è per sempre. E' sempre un evento doloroso, ma al dolore si reagisce in vari modi.

La serie “Stolen” nasce da un atto di ribellione, da una sfida. L' 11 Gennaio del 2012, 12 tele  appartenenti alle serie "Stones" (Ottobre 2011) e “The little ones” (Ottobre 2011), dipinte con colori acrilici e firmate sul retro, furono spedite a Londra per la partecipazione ad una mostra collettiva. Le opere non  arrivarono mai a destinazione. Il corriere al quale erano state affidate dichiarò di averle smarrite, assieme ai sassi che avevano ispirato la  serie “Stones”e avrebbero dovuto far parte dell’allestimento, raccolti  sul lungomare nel Suffolk  durante l’estate del 2008.
Nel  mese di Aprile l’artista ha realizzato una prima edizione ridotta di incisioni d’Autore, raccolte in cartelle che contengono una sola delle due serie, “Stones” o “The little ones”. Con la furia con cui la Sposa di Kill Bill sfodera la katana e cerca la sua vendetta, e una  perfidia tutta femminile, la perdita delle opere originali è stata rielaborata concettualmente: le cartelle  sono incomplete, contengono solo 5 incisioni invece che sei.

Il pezzo mancante, “rubato” dall’artista, sarà stampato e venduto singolarmente a un prezzo più alto rispetto a quelli contenuti nella cartella, considerati come opera unitaria.

Il pezzo mancante è diverso per ogni cartella, perché la serie completa così come fu spedita a Londra dovrà essere difficile da riassemblare, un furto concettuale contrapposto al furto subito, che  materializza il peggior incubo di ogni collezionista: la collezione incompleta, mutilata per sempre. 



A Theft lasts forever.  A theft is always a painful event, but each of us reacts against  pain in different ways: the series “ Stolen ” was created due to a rebellious act, as a challenge: 12 paintings that belonged to a series called " Stones" (October 2011) and“ The little ones ” (October 2011), had been painted using acrylic colors  and were signed on the back. On 11 January 2012, they were sent to London to be exhibited. The pieces of art never reached their destination. The courier to whom they had been entrusted declared to have lost them, together with the stones which had inspired the series “ Stones” , which were also part of the exhibit.  They had been picked off the coasts of Suffolk during the  summer of 2008.

In April the  artist created her first limited edition of  engravings  , collections in folders that contained a single piece of the two series, “ Stones ” or “ The little ones ”. With the fury with which the Bride  of Kill Bill  draws her  katana and looks for  revenge, and an all feminine wickedness, the loss of the original pieces of art are being elaborated conceptually: the folders are incomplete, they only contain five engravings instead of the original six.

The missing piece, “ stolen ” by the  artist, will be printed and sold, alone,  to the highest bidder at a higer price than those contained in the folder.

The missing piece varies in every folder, because the complete series, which was sent to London, will be difficult to complete, thus a conceptual theft due to the original theft suffered has materialized into the nightmare of every collector: an incomplete collection, crippled forever. In the engravings of “ Stolen ” we can see the  colors and feel the strength of the original pieces of art just like people who come back from the reign of the dead.
